A session should not be out of reach because of cost
Confidence Portrait Pricing
You can book a confidence portrait session at the standard price, request one of the limited supported places or ask about a fully funded session. Whichever option you use, you will receive the same time, patience, privacy and personal guidance.
Standard bookings and support from local businesses help make the more affordable options possible, allowing more people to feel comfortable, valued and seen.
A clear price, with support available when cost is a barrier
Confidence Portrait Session Pricing
A confidence portrait session should not only be available to someone who can comfortably afford the full price. The people who may benefit most from being treated with patience, care and dignity in front of a camera may also be the people for whom the cost creates a barrier.
I have therefore created three ways to access a session: the standard price, a supported price and a limited number of fully funded sessions. You can choose the standard option if you are able to pay the full cost, request the supported price if the standard fee would prevent you from booking, or ask about a fully funded place if neither amount is currently possible.
Whichever option you use, the experience itself will not change. You will receive the same amount of time, personal guidance and opportunity to settle into the session. Your privacy will be treated in exactly the same way, and you will remain in control of which photographs are chosen, edited or shared.
The only difference between the three options is the number of finished photographs included. Nobody paying a supported price will receive less patience or be rushed through the session. A fully funded place will never come with a requirement to share your personal story, provide a testimonial or allow your portrait to be used publicly.
Every confidence portrait session takes place in the comfort of your own home in St Albans or the surrounding Hertfordshire area. I bring the professional camera and lighting to you, allowing you to remain somewhere familiar with your own clothes, mirror and personal belongings nearby.
Standard bookings and support from local businesses help make the reduced-price and fully funded sessions possible. The aim is to create a fair and sustainable approach where paying the full price helps somebody else access the same respectful experience.

Cost should not prevent you from being seen
Supported and Fully Funded Sessions
I understand that £225 will not be affordable for everyone. That is why I offer a limited number of supported and fully funded confidence portrait sessions each month.
The supported session costs £125 and is available when the standard price would prevent you from booking. It includes the a 3 hour session in your home, with the same guidance, professional lighting and private gallery, and five carefully edited photographs.
A fully funded session is available at no cost when neither the standard nor supported price is possible. It includes a 3 hour session with the same care and privacy, and five carefully edited photographs. Fully funded sessions are only available by referral from a charity, community organisation, support worker or social prescriber.
You will not be asked to provide financial evidence, explain whether you receive benefits or share anything deeply personal. You only need to tell me that cost would otherwise prevent you from taking part. If I ask why the session would be meaningful to you, your answer can be as brief as you wish.
Paying less does not mean receiving less patience, dignity or support. You will never be required to provide a testimonial, share your story or allow your portrait to be used publicly.
These places are supported by standard bookings and contributions from local businesses. Because availability is limited, there may sometimes be a waiting list, but I will always be clear about the likely timescale.
Every standard booking helps make another session possible
How are supported sessions funded?
From every standard confidence portrait session booked at £225, I set aside £25 to help fund supported and fully funded places.
The supported session costs £125, creating a £100 difference from the standard price. After four standard bookings, the money set aside covers that reduction and allows one person to access the same 3 hour experience at the supported rate.
After nine standard bookings, £225 has been set aside. This can cover the full value of one confidence portrait session for someone referred by a charity, community organisation, support worker or social prescriber.
Local businesses and other supporters can also contribute. Their involvement allows supported and fully funded sessions to become available more often, rather than relying entirely on the number of standard bookings received.
It creates a simple cycle. One person books a confidence portrait session for themselves, part of that payment is set aside, and over time it helps someone else access the same care, guidance and privacy.
The person receiving support is never expected to share their identity, portrait or personal story with those who helped fund the session.
A practical way to support people in the local community
Businesses Can Help Someone Feel Seen
Local businesses can fund confidence portrait sessions for people who may otherwise be unable to take part.
This could form part of your community involvement, staff fundraising, wellbeing work or social impact programme. You can fund one session, support several people or create an ongoing arrangement.
Your support could help someone who is:
- Rebuilding confidence after illness
- Recovering from a difficult period
- Returning to employment
- Starting again after homelessness
- Adjusting to changes in their appearance
- Living with disability or long-term illness
- Beginning a new stage of life
- Usually absent from family photographs
- Unable to afford a professional portrait
A portrait will not solve every challenge someone faces. However, a calm experience of being listened to, respected and photographed with care can still matter.
Ways a Business Can Get Involved
Support one reduced-price session
A contribution of £100 covers the difference between the standard and supported session prices. The person contributes £125, while your support makes the full session possible.
£100
Fund one complete session
Your business can cover the full cost of one confidence portrait session for someone who could not otherwise afford it.
£225
Fund three sessions
Support three people with private confidence portrait sessions in their own homes.
£675
Fund six sessions
Create a larger local programme supporting six people. Sessions can be offered over an agreed period and may be connected with a charity or community organisation you already support.
£1350
A calm, personal process shaped around you
Your Session, Step by Step
Not knowing what to expect can make being photographed feel even more daunting. That is why I want you to understand the whole process before you book—from choosing your session date and preparing your clothing to what happens in front of the camera and how you select your finished portraits.
There are no hidden tests and no expectation that you will arrive knowing how to pose. I will guide you, answer your questions and give you time to settle. The following sections explain exactly what you can expect.
Will I be treated differently if I book a supported or fully funded session?
No. The standard, supported and fully funded confidence portrait sessions are exactly the same.
Whichever option applies to you, you will receive the same unhurried 90-minute session in your home, the same preparation and personal guidance, the same privacy and the same five carefully edited photographs.
Nothing about the experience, care or finished result changes. The only difference is how the cost of the session is covered.
Do I need to prove that I cannot afford the standard price?
No. I will not ask for bank statements, benefit information or other financial evidence. For a supported session, you only need to confirm that the standard £225 price would prevent you from booking at this time.
Fully funded sessions work differently because they are only available through a referral from a charity, community organisation, support worker or social prescriber.
Do I need to explain why I want a fully funded session?
Your referring organisation will need to provide a simple reason why it believes the session would be helpful, but nobody needs to share your whole personal story.
I may ask what you would like from the session so that I can support you properly. You can answer briefly and keep anything private that you would rather not discuss.
Can I book a supported session immediately?
Possibly, but it depends on availability. I only offer a limited number of supported places each month, so there may sometimes be a waiting list.
If a place is available, I will send you the booking information so you can choose a suitable date and time. If not, I will be honest about when the next session is likely to become available.
Can I apply for a fully funded session myself?
Fully funded sessions are only available by referral from a charity, community organisation, support worker or social prescriber.
If you already receive support from an organisation or professional, you can ask them to contact me about making a referral. This helps make sure the limited funded places reach people who may benefit from them most.
Will my photographs be shared because my session was supported or funded?
No. Your photographs remain private unless you clearly give me permission to share a particular image.
Paying a reduced price or receiving a fully funded session does not create any obligation to share your portrait, provide a testimonial or tell your story publicly.
Will the person or business funding my session see my photographs?
No. Supporting a session does not give anyone the right to see your photographs.
If you allow me to share one particular image, that permission only applies to that image. It does not allow anyone to see or use the rest of your session.
Will a supporting business be given my name?
No. Your name, contact details and personal circumstances will not be shared with a supporting business.
A business may be told how many sessions its support helped provide, but it will not be given information that identifies the people who received them.
Can I purchase additional photographs?
Yes. If you would like more than the number included in your session, additional edited photographs and professional prints will be available to order.
There is no pressure to buy anything extra. The photograph or photographs included in your chosen option are yours to download and keep.
Can a business or individual contribute without being publicly named?
Yes. Businesses and individuals can support sessions privately if they prefer.
Public recognition is optional. Helping someone access a session does not have to come with a logo, announcement or ceremonial cutting of a very small ribbon.
Where do the sessions take place?
Confidence portrait sessions take place in your own home in St Albans or within 10 miles of the city.
I bring the professional camera and lighting equipment to you, so you can remain somewhere familiar and private. Before the session, we will discuss the available space and what will work best.
