St Albans Registry Office, or The Gatehouse to the locals, is one of my most popular venues to visit as a wedding photographer. It’s even better now as it’s only a short hop across the border between Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. I’m not sure why it is so popular. It could be that St Albans is a fantastic place for a wedding, the prominence of the building with its large doors and the canon outside or simply the fact that more people are looking to get married in St Albans and Hertfordshire.
Whatever the reason I really look forward to my visits to the venue and the helpful staff that I am always welcomed by (some of them also attend weddings at the nearby St Michaels Manor Hotel).
