With the news of, hopefully, the end of lockdown I am getting a lot more requests for weddings coming through every day. Not only are the wedding enquiries from couples looking to get married, but they are also from couples who got married during the last year. These couples had their wedding with the restrictions on the number of wedding guests that they had. These happy wedding couples are now looking to have the wedding reception and wedding party that they could not have at the time.
These requests for my wedding photography have prompted me to go back over some of the weddings that I have attended and look at how people have celebrated their wedding, not only during the lockdown but also before.
This happy couple got married abroad, before the lockdown. They knew at the time that with the wedding being in another country they would not be able to have everyone at their wedding that they would have wanted. The answer though was to hold a wedding garden party for all the wedding guests when they returned.
The couple, along with friends and family, did a great job organising everything and knew exactly what they wanted:
The Wedding Bar – Made out of old pallets.
The Wedding Photobooth – An old picture frame they painted along with a few props.
The Wedding Garden Olympics – A series of traditional old school games, the sack race, the egg and spoon race and of course a tug of war.
For some reason they even had a gold cow (actually, it was a garden feature that was simply too big to move).
The way that they had organised their wedding garden party made for a truly relaxing but fun afternoon and evening and one that I will remember.
